Piero Lissoni Furniture Launch 30th September 2011

On the 30th of September, Sheer Industries Group headed down to Dream Interiors, a luxury provider of interior furnishings for the launch of Piero Lissoni’s new line of furniture. His stopover in Singapore was the last leg of his Asia Tour that began in Shanghai .

Called Pallet, the new indoor/outdoor furniture range is his work for italian brand Pierantonio Bonacina, which became part of the Matteograssi Group in 2010, a fellow Italian house that prides itself on product research with remarkable attention to detail and material selection.

The launch kicked off with an opening speech by the grandson of Matteograssi and was graced by many industry professionals from related fields such as architecture, interior design, media, and education. Mingling around the crowd i got to know a few architects and interior designers and also spoke with a lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

Pieor Lissoni then took the stage to present his new works of art that exemplify nature, functionality and sustainability. These qualities are represented by wooden chairs and tables, wooden low tables, wicker armchairs and woven cushion covers that all seek to exude a sense of simplicity that is disarmingly charming.

There was plenty of quality wine to go around paired with delectable finger food such as smoked duck on crackers and top grade gourmet chocolate nuggets. There were hardly any leftovers as nobody hesitated to polish off the exquisite array of edible goodies that were a perfect match for an event of such high calibre.

Sophistication and a newfound respect for design industry professionals were the two main things i brought home from the experience that evening at a cost of only an hour of my time. Sweet.
